The Nekkid Dungeon Run

This is an ooc run just for the fun of it. The idea is to gather gear as you go through dungeons beginning with a lowbie dungeon and working your way up to, hopefully at least level 70 dungeons in the allotted time. We can hope for level 80 dungeons...but I doubt we'll make that in the 3 hours. This is the first time doing this, so bear with us as we plan and hope it comes out to be a great event.
Please submit your team roster to me in game via mail, so I know who is coming in advance. Thanks!

Rules:
1. All players must be without any armor or weapons to start. (Clothing with no armor rating is permitted)
-exceptions: Hunters may begin with a low level ranged weapon and ammo. Pally's may begin with a low level shield.
(if there is a class specific item I've over looked please let me know. Otherwise you should not have anything equipped at all). Players will begin 'gearing' by equipping armor and weapons that drop in the dungeons. Use normal need/greed rules for rolling on loot.
2. All teams will consist of a proper party: 5 players A Tank, A Healer and 3 DPS.
3. All teams will travel to each dungeon. The use of the LFG to travel to dungeons is not permitted.
4. Follow the dungeon order as listed.
The Play:
All teams will begin at Deadmines and use what gear drops there and proceed to the next dungeon and so forth. A Three hour window has been allotted. At the end of the three hours the teams will gather.
Scoring:
We will use two methods to score: The first team to finish the highest dungeon wins, if more than one team completes the same dungeon, then we will score the gear of each team and the highest score wins. In the event of a tie, the winning teams will enter 5v5 battle at an arena (preferably a remote one), to determine a winner.
If you have any questions, comments, suggestion please let me know.
Happy hunting!
~Endy

More things: (I'm sure I'll be posting more stuff all week so please check this thread)

So as not to over complicate matters too much:
Since we're not stepping down ranks on anyone's spells, it seems fair that rogues use the level 70-80 poisons. Rogues won't have a weapon at first anyway..so it works.

I'm still trying to work out the logistics on the Hunter's ranged weapons...not very many drop in instances that I know of...I hope that works out ok. At worst, you equip you're uber level 80 cannon of doom. But I think we can manage without.
But I really don't think anyone will have any problems with anything until we hit Northrend dungeons anyway. Again, please share thought and suggestions.
Post here, or on my facespace or email me leighal_dharama@yahoo.com

The History of the Wardens

I'm working on developing a chronology (I guess you call it that) of the Wardens. I rolled a druid name Rawiyah who is a founding member of the Wardens and has been in the emerald dream for a long time (to be determined). As part of her story I'm developing the Wardens' history for her to tell in bits, as people gather to meet. My thinking is that she will be a sort of lore keeper for the Wardens and that we can gather at certain times for her to tell stories of the 'old times.' (Campfire stories).

Anyone that wants to contribute with stories and history, please feel free to jump in any time. It's a work in progress and it's more fun if everyone contributes.

More RP-PVP

Okay, so it turns out there's a thread on the MG forums specifically for the listing of RP-PVP events that some folks are trying to get stickied and it's here.

And we've got some events coming up pretty soon:

Strangling Stormwind - 12/10/2009 @ 7:00 PM ST ("With Ironforge denied supplies, and unable to send supplies to Northrend, the Horde will move and occupy the Stormwind docks. We will capture any supplies we find and destroy anything we cannot carry. In this, we will weaken Stormwind and the Vanguard." Hosted by the Kor'Kron Legion)

Saving Private Keelord - 12/11/2009 @ 7:00 PM

The Battle for Halaa - 12/12/2009 @ 8:00 PM

Shadarim Placeholder Event (TBA) - 12/14/2009 @ 8:00 PM ST

Battle for Menethil postscript

Last night I attended an RP-PVP event organized by a Gnome DK named Tadkins and advertised on the MG Forums. I didn't have high hopes. Endy went to the assault on Hammerfall and said it was a disappointment. Folks on the forums expressed the same thing. But last night was so fun it's rekindled my interest in pvp.

The RP backstory was that there were important supplies at Thelsamar (Loch Modan) and a ship of supplies coming in to Menethil (Wetlands). The Horde goal was to attack both Thelsamar and Menethil, and to hold both towns. If by 8:45 (45 minutes after the event began), they held both towns, they would win, stealing the supplies in Thelsamar and burning the ships at Menethil.

Things started off chaotically. Most of the raid gathered at the bridge in front of Menethil. We already knew the Horde were going to gather their forces at Dun Modr (the town taken over by the Dark Irons near the Thandol Span) because they announced that on the forums. A bunch of folks - mainly from Wrath of the Righteous, but they weren't the only ones - broke off from the main group and hit Dun Modr before the Horde could get organized. They kicked their asses so thoroughly, there was some real question as to whether or not the horde would even have anyone left to attack Menethil. Eventually, the guys from WotR came back to the raid and the Horde managed to gather forces to attack the town. The attack didn't last long. The horde formed up in front of the bridge, we charged, they died.

Once 8:45 rolled around and it was clear we had officially won, we decided to counter-attack. We rode north where we found the horde waiting for us on the Thandol Span. This was probably the best, most fun, fight of the night. We fought them twice on the bridge and won both times - first from the Wetlands side and again from Arathi side. I died early in the first fight when the horde charged us, but managed to live through the second fight and send a couple of forum regulars to hell.

It turned out there was more going on than we realized. When we were at Menethil, our raid was full so a second raid formed. The second raid had already razed Hammerfall to the ground while we were fighting on the Span. We decided to push our luck and rode to Tirisfal. We wiped out Brill, moved to Undercity, but failed to put a significant dent in the dead queen. Still, we had won the initial engagement and overall it was a fun night.

I definitely want to get more involved in these things. It was a lot of fun. I want to see if maybe we can talk to the people from the organizing guilds and see if TW, with our guild concept, could kind of become the official scouts of these things.

Some MG events

LADIES NIGHT! - Next Friday, December 11th, The Park in Stormwind, 9:30 pm.

Blood Elf Execution: An RP-PVP event - Next Wednesday, Dec. 9th, 7-8 pm, somewhere in Dun Morogh.

Assault on Hammerfall: An RP-PVP event - this Sunday, 6 pm, in Arathi Highlands.

Horde/Alliance Argent Jousting Tournament: Monday, Dec. 14th, 8 pm, Argent Tournament Grounds in Icecrown.

I made the unfortunate move of getting myself involved in an MG forum argument about Alliance not being involved in RP-PVP enough. Thankfully, it seems like one of the results is an effort by certain Alliance guilds to get more involved in organizing RP-PVP events and communicating with other guilds.
